Because of the thumbnail, I was going to say that’s not beer. That’s windex.

Does the Kaeopectate make the beer go down easier?

It’s funny, I’ve sold about 60 of those already and I still have about 50 to go. I’m sick of looking at them already!

This reminds me of a semi-serious review I wrote of the stuff, a few years back..

Quoted from my past:

First of all, let me preface this with the following... I do not normally drink lagers. I don’t like lagers, as a general rule. Not even Stella Artois is on my list of mainstay brews, even though it’s decent.

Okay, now that that’s settled, I’m about to pull out some heresy. I actually find Big Flats 1901 to be a decent brew, especially for its price.

The basics: It pours a pale gold, with a prominent white head that quickly dissipates to a faint lacing around the rim of the glass, just like Stella Artois. It looks like Stella, and to me, even has a light flavour similar to draft Stella. It’s really not a bad brew, despite it’s low cost. In comparison to the macrobrews like Budweiser, Coors or Miller, I’d rather have the Big Flats.

There is a light, mild hop flavour to the brew, and in many ways it is just a normal lager. It’s not terribly impressive, it’s actually drinkable by a self-professed beer snob, and that’s really all there is to say. It just isn’t a bad beer. Not great, but not bad. I’d definitely take it over a Stella or Bud, though.

The cost. This is where the Big Flats absolutely blows everyone out of the water. Local prices have it at $3.49/6-pack, while I’ve seen it as low as $3 for a 6-pack in Murfreesboro, so you do get a lot of brew for your money. Just make sure you chill it well before drinking, or it might not be so palatable. Still, though... For comparison, Stella Artois is $10/6-pack locally, so it’s not a bad proposition. 18 Big Flats or 6 Stella?

Overall, for a cheap lager, it’s worth buying. At worst, you’re only out $3.50 and don’t get it again.
